Backup & Disaster Recovery: Business Continuity for SMEs

We protect your company's critical data and systems with automated backup strategies, tested disaster recovery plans and high-availability architectures, integrated with our cloud and infrastructure consulting.

Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

Backup and disaster recovery are not an accessory cost, but the insurance on your company's business continuity. A hardware failure, a human error or a ransomware attack can bring production, management systems and critical data to a halt in an instant: without reliable copies and a tested recovery plan, downtime is measured in days and in lost revenue. That is why we pair our cloud consulting on Scaleway with a structured backup and disaster recovery service, designed for SMEs in manufacturing, logistics and food that cannot afford interruptions.

We start from defining RPO and RTO for every critical system — how much data can be lost and how quickly to restart — and from there we build an automated backup strategy following the 3-2-1 rule, with encrypted off-site copies. The disaster recovery plan is tested with periodic simulations and, where needed, evolves into high-availability architectures with automatic failover, based on Kubernetes and Docker. Everything integrates with the measures required by NIS2 compliance and cybersecurity and with a corrective and evolutionary software maintenance plan.

protection

Backup strategy and the 3-2-1 rule

A solid backup strategy starts from the 3-2-1 rule: at least three copies of the data, on two different types of media, with one off-site and encrypted copy outside the premises. We automate incremental and full backups of databases, applications, virtual machines and file systems, defining retention and versioning policies consistent with the company's operational and regulatory constraints. Backups are monitored and verified automatically, so that a failure is flagged immediately and not discovered when it is needed most. The goal is to always have an intact, recent copy to restart from, protected even from the ransomware attacks that today deliberately target backups themselves.

Tested disaster recovery plan

Disaster recovery is what turns backup copies into a real ability to restart. We draft a plan describing roles, responsibilities, recovery priorities and concrete steps to bring systems and data back online after a failure, an attack or a catastrophic event. Starting from the agreed RPO and RTO we size backup frequency, redundancy and recovery architecture. But a plan is only worth as much as it actually works: that is why we run periodic restore tests and disaster recovery simulations, measuring real restart times and validating data integrity. Simulations bring hidden weaknesses to the surface and keep the plan aligned with the evolution of the systems, before real downtime puts the company to the test.

High availability and business continuity

For systems that simply cannot stop, backup and disaster recovery evolve into business continuity and high availability. We design architectures with redundancy, automatic failover and data replication across different zones, so that the failure of one component does not stop the service. We leverage European sovereign cloud and containers orchestrated with Kubernetes to achieve scalability and resilience without locking into a single provider. Backup, disaster recovery and high availability converge into a single infrastructure design, consistent with the security measures required by NIS2. The result is a company that keeps working even when something goes wrong, with measurable and controlled recovery times.

Less downtime and always recoverable data

Automated, redundant backups and a tested disaster recovery plan drastically reduce the risk of losing data or being stuck after a failure or an attack. The company always has an intact copy to restart from and defined recovery times, turning a potential disaster into a manageable setback.

Business continuity and resilience

With high-availability architectures, automatic failover and data replication, critical systems keep running even when a component fails. Business continuity protects production, orders and customers, and gives the company the resilience it needs to face unexpected events without stopping the business.

NIS2 compliance and trust

A structured backup and disaster recovery strategy addresses the continuity and recovery measures required by the NIS2 directive and strengthens the overall security of the infrastructure. The result is a company that is compliant, protected from cyber risks and more reliable in the eyes of clients and partners.
