Gruppo Granarolo Spa, a leader in the dairy sector, faced significant challenges in managing digital identities before 2018. The IDM software previously in use, being a standardised solution, did not adapt effectively to the company's specific workflows and had significant limitations in terms of integration with other corporate systems. This caused a considerable manual workload for the IT department, which had to handle user creation and permission assignment by hand, leading to the risk of errors and operational inefficiencies.

how does it work?

This custom IAM system automatically integrates user creation, permission assignment and the automation of business processes, eliminating manual handling and the risk of error. The new Identity Management system we developed offers full integration with the corporate ecosystem:

    the result

    The implementation of the new system radically transformed the management of digital identities at Granarolo, bringing significant operational and organisational improvements. The IT department was freed from routine user-management tasks, allowing it to focus on higher value-added activities and on solving more complex issues. Process automation eliminated the risk of human error in permission configuration, while ensuring greater security and compliance with corporate policies. The system created a fully integrated workflow, where changes to the company's workforce are automatically reflected across all related systems, from physical access management (badges) to digital access (Active Directory, Office 365). This not only improved operational efficiency but also significantly increased corporate security through more precise and timely management of access authorisations.

Granarolo stands out as the only Italian supply chain based on an integrated production system, in which the entire process is managed and controlled in close collaboration with the best local producers.

    The company oversees every stage of the production process: from the collection of raw materials to the distribution of the finished product to retail outlets. This approach guarantees the highest quality and safety, a constant commitment to complete sustainability that includes animal welfare, reduced use of medicines, lower water consumption, fewer emissions, less plastic, greater transparency on the origin of products and stronger protection of labour.
